Can cats see in the dark?

For awhile I thought that cats can see in the dark, but then I read in this magazine that cats can't see in pitch black, but can see only with some light. Some of you may know that but I thought for those that didn't might think that was interesting. It was very hard for me to believe at first, but then it made sense, how can a cat see in pitch black dark? I mean, it seems possible, but if you think about it, it's not. That theory is gone. They can still in the dark better than we can. I mean, that's amazing!
